Coveron Review: Is It Worth It for Identity Protection?
Coveron (formerly NordProtect) is Nord Security's identity theft monitoring and recovery service. Here's what it actually watches for, what it costs, and how it stacks up against DeleteMe, Aura, and LifeLock.
What Coveron actually does
Coveron is the rebranded, spun-out version of what used to be NordProtect — Nord Security's identity-theft protection feature for NordVPN Prime subscribers. It's now a standalone product that runs through your NordAccount dashboard rather than a separate app, which is convenient if you already use NordVPN or NordPass and mildly annoying if you don't want another Nord account.
Core coverage: dark web and credit monitoring, breach and suspicious-activity alerts, identity theft insurance and recovery assistance (reported up to roughly $1–2M depending on plan), and cyber-extortion coverage (reported up to roughly $50k–100k). It's built to catch and help you recover from identity theft — not to prevent a breach from happening in the first place.
Pricing — what each plan actually gets you
Scam Protection — ~$2.84/mo
Scam and breach alerts without full credit monitoring — the cheapest way to get eyes on your data without handing over an SSN.
Identity Theft Protection — ~$4.74/mo
Adds dark web monitoring and identity theft insurance/recovery assistance on top of the base alerts.
Full Protection — ~$8.54/mo
Bundles NordVPN, Threat Protection, Incogni (data broker removal), and 3-bureau credit monitoring with the identity protection above — the closest thing to an all-in-one plan.
Pricing above is based on third-party reporting as of late 2026 — confirm current tiers and what's included on Coveron's own pricing page before buying, since terms and availability can change.
Where it's genuinely strong
- Backed by Nord Security, an established company with a long track record — not an unknown startup, even though Coveron itself is a young standalone brand.
- Meaningful insurance and recovery component, not just monitoring and alerts — useful if something actually goes wrong, not only a notification service.
- The Full Protection tier bundles real, separately useful tools (a VPN, data-broker removal via Incogni) rather than just a monitoring dashboard.
- Noticeably cheaper than long-established competitors at every tier (see comparison below).
Where it falls short
- US-only (and excludes New York and Washington state) — no option yet for anyone outside the US.
- Full credit monitoring requires providing your Social Security number, which is a reasonable ask for this category but worth knowing going in.
- Young as a standalone brand — it was NordProtect until a 2025 rebrand, so "Coveron" specifically has a short track record, even if the underlying company doesn't.
- Runs through NordAccount rather than its own dedicated app, which can feel like an extra step if you're not already in the Nord ecosystem.
Coveron vs. DeleteMe vs. Aura vs. LifeLock
These overlap but aren't quite the same product — some only remove your data, others only monitor and insure:
| Service | Core focus | Insurance / recovery | Starting price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coveron | Dark web/credit monitoring + theft recovery, US-only | Yes, bundled from the entry tier | ~$2.84/mo |
| DeleteMe | Removes your info from data broker and people-search sites | No — removal and monitoring only | See current pricing |
| Aura | All-in-one identity protection, credit monitoring, family plans | Yes, well-established | ~$12–15/mo (individual) |
| LifeLock (Norton) | Long-running identity theft protection, broad plan tiers | Yes, tiered by plan | ~$12.49–34.99/mo (individual) |
If budget is the deciding factor and you're US-based, Coveron undercuts both Aura and LifeLock meaningfully while still including insurance and recovery. If you specifically want your personal data scrubbed from broker sites rather than monitored, that's DeleteMe's job, not Coveron's — the two solve different problems and can reasonably be run together.
Who should actually get it
Coveron makes the most sense for US-based people who already use NordVPN or NordPass and want monitoring plus real recovery backing without paying Aura or LifeLock's prices. If you're outside the US, or you specifically need data-broker removal rather than monitoring and insurance, look elsewhere first.
Try Coveron — see current plans and what's covered at each tier (US residents only).
